Floral Media - Say It With Flowers - Dries van Noten

This week on Floral Media we are taking a look at the fashion designer Dries van Noten's latest fashion show in Paris. It's his S/S 2017 Ready-To Wear collection called Say It With Flowers.

Many of the clothes has flower prints as well as lots of contrast. He says: " We just started to chop up garments and throw flower prints on. Everything contrasting!"

The catwalk that the models walk down has large installations of frozen blocks of ice with "towers of flowers". They contain massive botanical arrangements - similar to the ones you might see in Dutch Old Masters paintings. Here the flowers are frozen in blocks of melting ice.

The installations are created by the Japanese floral artist and botanical sculptor Azuma Makoto. Here is a link to his website. It has some stunning close-ups of the flowers.

I hope you enjoyed this video with some rather unusual flower arrangements used in a very creative way.

Thank you for visiting 'Of Spring and Summer - I will be back on Wednesday with some more floral delights. Hope to see you then.

Bonjour chère amie,

Merci pour le partage de cette vidéo. Je suis sous le charme de ce décor floral... je le suis moins avec les mannequins qui dégagent une atmosphère machiavélique...

Gros bisous ❀

Very special and beautiful flower decorations at the fashion show. Good idea of Dries van Noten, to introduce flower patterns on his fashion dresses for 2017, I love wearing flower dresses.
