Florets - Floral Quote by Alethea Harampolis and Jill Rizzo of Studio Choo

"When the Ilex bush loses its leaves, branches filled with dense clusters of red berries are revealed, a welcome sight as the first frost begins to set in. Ilex holds its fruit a ways into winter, providing the woodland birds a nice light snack (they are toxic for humans and some animals). Since Ilex (also known as winterberry) can sometimes be devoid of foliage, add a fan of redwood and some holly leaves around this merry bunch."

Cheery Ilex branches are already appearing for sale around New York City. I always buy some to brighten up my apartment. Another seasonal favorite that I've spied at the farmers market is cyclamen. I'm just trying to decide which color to select this November....

Best wishes to you, Ingrid. xo
