DIY Flower Tips and Inspiration - # 3 - Pink Peony

Pink Peony

Here is another instalment in my new series called: 'DIY Flower Tips and Inspiration' - and it's all about that very special beauty the Peony.
  • Select peonies that are showing some colour in the bud - if the bud is too tight when cut they might not open up.
  • To encourage peonies to open - here is something you could try. Hold the flower upside down and spray with water to remove the sticky sap around the bud.
  • Peonies are thirsty flowers - so remember to top up with fresh water in the vase.
  • Put the vase with peonies in a cool spot to prolong the life of the flowers - especially at night.
  • Peonies last for about five days in bud and up to five days in flower.

Have a Wonderful Floral Day!

I'll see you later in the week with more flowers on
'Of Spring and Summer'

Exquisite!
I shall be looking for peonies at roadside stands - the deer have chewed ours all off the stems.

Oh Ingrid, how I do love peonies! This is the time of the year that peonies and lilacs begin to make their appearance at various local markets.

You've added to my knowledge of how to treat peonies properly. I do hope to bring some home with me this week.

Vackra pioner!
Hibiskus, som du skriverom nedan, växer som stora buskar nere i Spanien. I Wales går det inte lika bra, tyvärr.
Ha det bra!

Beautiful Ingrid! I am waiting for the peonies in my garden to bloom as well. The leaves are already visible, but no buds yet. It's difficult to be patient sometimes :-)

Happy weekend ahead!
