Florets - Floral Quote by Malin Hidesäter

"The time leading up to Christmas, before everything gets stressful, is lovely. I buy wreaths and decorate the entire house with flowers, not least hyacinths, for their scent is a must in December. Of course, it's lovely to have Christmas baskets and potted hyacinths but cut flowers can bring just as much Christmas spirit into the home. Why not release the traditional flowers like amaryllis and hyacinths from their pots and bulbs and use them in exciting different ways?"

My favourite flower for Christmas scent is the regal lily, or Christmas lily as we call it here in NZ. It's one of those scents that instantly makes me nostalgic. I have some in the garden and the buds are swelling but not yet flowering... I am waiting impatiently!

Thank you so much for your comment over at my place.

How I do love the scent (and the appearance) of hyacinths. I've already made some inquiries at a local flower shop about when they will have some potted hyacinth blooms.

Right now they've got beautiful greenery, tulips!, and a variety of colors of Christmas cactus plants. I might just go for the cactus...will see what is available as this week advances.

What a lovely composition this is, Ingrid.

I too, love the time leading up to Christmas. There's always so much to do, but I enjoy every moment of it.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! xo.
