Layers of Blue

A big bunch of gorgeous blue Grape hyacinths.
The Latin name is Muscari armeniacum.
A delightful spring flowering bulb.

I have mixed them here with other blue little delights.
Blue buttons of many sizes, ribbons with blue stiching, a fabric with a blue floral patten, vintage blue glass bottles, old hankeshiefs with blue trim and light blue washi tape.

My dear, you never cease to amaze me! I love blue and the collection of buttons and how you choose to pull the gorgeous hyacinth together in this photgraph, really stunning! Have you ever thought of having this work framed? Hinting here. :)
Happy weekend,

P.S. Earlier today I thought I lost my entire blog not sure what happened. So glad you got through...

Ljuvligt helt enkelt! Bilderna får mig att tänka på den fina servisen Blå Blom, precis samma blå nyanser. Blått och vitt är en oslagbar kombo.

Great shades of blue. I think hyacinths are more beautiful in vases because they are so tiny you have to have them like hundreds that they look something in a ground. Great set up:)
Have a nice weekend

Oh, such a big bouquet of Grape hyacinths! Gorgeous! The first photo is a bit chaotic in my opinion. The second one is my fave at first sight as the shallow DOF allows viewer to focus on the flowers and is not disctracted by the stuff around. After looking at it for a while I like the 3rd one even more than the second photo. I think that everything is in good balance here so no subject overwhelms other subjects. Great work as always! Arranging flowers is a tough nut for me (not for my wife) so I really adore your work.

Washi tape? Must be that ghostly blue??

I love the layers of texture and detail. That first picture is the sort that hooked me into your blog, once upon a time ;~)

Brilliant, Ingrid! There is nothing to compare to the color of grape hyacinth especially in such an abundant arrangement. Mine are just coming up but I don't know if I have the heart to cut so many for a bouquet. I'll just have to plant more this autumn! Have a great week. xo – g
