Tête-à-Tête and Washi

Let me introduce you to two little secrets of mine!

The first one is a flower.

I love this little daffodil!

It is very small and very sweet and it is called Narcissus Tête-à-Tête. It is often one of the earliest of the daffodils and it is adorable. It is called Tête-à-Tête because it often has two flowers or heads on the same stem. The plant is about 15 cm tall and the flowers are only about 3 cm across. It is a miniature version of its larger cousin.

The second secret is a kind of masking tape.

I love this tape!

The green and white checked tape is Japanese Washi masking tape. It is wonderful stuff. For a long time you could only get it in Japan and USA, but now you can buy it in Europe. Papermash is a company in the UK where you can buy the tape. It is a paper tape made from rice or bark so it is easy to tear and you can peel it off and reuse it.

Dear Ingrid, Oh yes, I completely agree with you about this wonderful tiny Narcissus. It is so cheerful and makes a welcome splash of winter sunshine in even the most harsh weather.

As for the Washi tape.....this is completely new to me. It looks wonderful as you have shown it in the images here.

Love the tape, love the flowers, love the picture. Thank you so much for sharing with me about where you get your flowers. I was hoping you would say you grow at least part of them. In my area, we do not have many places to buy nice fresh cut flowers.

I´m sorry, but I don´t like yellow flowers at all...We have the daffodils here in every supermarket...as much as I love flowers, I will not buy them...

Terrific image, Ingrid. The composition is so fresh and appealing. I love Tete a Tete narcissus. They are always the first to come up in the spring here. Well, actually, they're already showing green shoots now. They are so sweet and tough little things, too, as the usually get hit by cold weather. Somehow they go so well with checks, as you have them here – darling! xo
