Silver Leaves

Two silver leaved plants with tongue-twisting names.
The first one from the Mediterranean, the other from Australia. They are both sold right now in all the local London nurseries from the cheaper end like Homebase to the more expensive ones like Petersham Nurseries and Cliftons.
They are not fully hardy plants so I decided to make a temporary indoor arrangement.
What attracted me to two plants was the colour, the interesting and contrasting texture and the "two for one" price tag!
I also felt that they had quite a contemporary feel to them so I planted them in a modern silver coloured bowl and surrounded the arrangement with more silver and off-white things.
A sake bottle, some white coral and my dear sister-in-laws beautiful painting.

Happy Halloween!
Have a wonderful and not too scary weekend!

Years ago, when I saw the white garden at Sissinghurst I learnt to look at grey leaved plants with interest. In England they say 'Sunny', 'Mediterranean'. I have one fine leaved grey plant which has seeded itself and is growing happily. Love the Centaurea but it is harder to find commercially available South African grey leaved plants. Have been playing at tablescapes today, but not in your class ;>)
