Autumn Flower Arrangement

A small and simple autumn flower arrangement. It is straight out of my garden.
I have used the dark leaved Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple'. That is quite some name! It is also called Smoke bush or Venetian sumach. The leaves turn a beautiful scarlet colour later in the year.
As "greenery" or filler in this floral arrangement it is a perfect contrast colour to the two lighter green.
The small green berries are the fruits of the common ivy or Hedera helix as it is called in Latin. It is only the adult ivy that flowers and produce berries and you have to wait quite a few years for it to flower.
The other green "flowers" are seed capsules from poppies.
The dark colour of the leaves is picked up in the vintage belt buckles, the beads and the painted ivy leaves on the lovely hand painted ceramic bowl. The bowl is from Corfu and a present from two very dear people.

This arrangement does have that subtle message that autumn is just about here. The deep tones of the colors are so beautiful together, and all those globes and circles make wonderful harmony.

Having the dish with the other shapes just gives that wonderful accent that you arrangements always find.

Beautiful!

Dear Ingrid, I love the leaves and plume-like flowers of the Cotinus and they look wonderful here combined with the slatey blue poppy heads. I have never considered putting these together but I shall now - they look marvellous.

Jättefina färger på buketten. Särskilt den på vallmo frökapslarna.
Det är nog min favoritfärg.
Ha det fint.
