Ribbon from Jane Means collection.
The author and gardener Sarah Raven says: "Everyone loves these as cut flowers and they're good in the garden too."
The flower has whorls of petals that are like tissue-paper and arching long stems. They look best when they are fully opened but they are all right to buy in bud and let them develop in the vase.
As a cut flower Ranunculus last for about a week, they are not happy in floral foam so should be placed in a vase with plenty of space.
Ranunculus come in a wide variety of colours - pink, red, yellow, orange, white, purple, apricot, even green, as well as multi-coloured and they come as single or double flowers. Flowering season is usually from January till May.

Hi Ingrid, I LOVE those flowers and LOVE the photos you posted. Christa
Beautiful photos that I will feast upon before my own ranunculus starts to bloom. As always a truly wonderful collection of photos!!!
Sååå ljuvliga skönheter! Jag älskar dessa....
Önskar dig en riktigt skön helg!
Kram Randi
Stunning flowers, such gorgeous colours and so beautifully photographed!
Så härligt att riktigt få gotta sig i underbara ranunkler! Tack :)
Lovely photo's Ingrid. The ranunculus is such a pretty flower! I bought a lovely bunch at the market lately. It's still brightening up our home.
Happy weekend,
Madelief x
What a gorgeous collection, Ingrid! Ranunculus are definitely one of the most popular flowers for their romance, colors and happy, wavy attitude. If they were fragrant, they'd have a chance of replacing roses and peonies and narcissus as my top three.
But they are wonderful nonetheless and these photos really show them off.
Hope spring is on the way there in London!
