Florets - Floral Quote - # 50 - by Rebecca Tanqueray

"Supper for two. Even the simplest table can be dressed up for a romantic dinner. Create drama with dark, jewelled colours and low-level lighting, use tactile dinnerware and sparkling, ornate glass, then add a dash of glamorous gold. Against this seductive background, serve luxurious, sensual food: soft fresh figs, succulent strawberries or dark chocolate mousse. And the flowers? Red roses, of course.

Red roses. It might be the stuff of cliché but it is hard to beat roses for the ultimate romantic finishing touch. You don't need armfuls of flowers to make an impact - displaying a single rose in a small bowl, as here, can be just as effective."

Ingrid, I would not have thought to take a picture of a red rose in a mortar in a million years! But that combo works beautifully. Brilliant!

What a gorgeous rose, Ingrid!
Like the author of the quote, I prefer a single rose as opposed to a big bunch of them. Of course if someone gave me a big bunch of them, I surely wouldn't refuse them!! :-)

Have a wonderful week ahead, xo.
