I was all set in autumn mood when I spotted these pink Chrysanthemums.
What is a girl to do when she sees something pretty and pink?
Well, of course I had to have some.
It was my trusted friend Mr Flower Man at the local Farmers Market who had them on his stall.
I also spotted that he had some very interesting acid-green Chrysanthemums that perfectly matched the centre of the pink ones. Mr Flower Man told me that the green one is used by a lot florists. I did not have the heart to tell him that I already knew that and that was exactly where my inspiration (read: stolen idea) came from.
When I got home and while conditioning the flowers I started having second thoughts about doing a post as it looked more like summer not autumn.
I still decided to go ahead and do a post as I thought that we all might need a reminder of summer and pretty colours.
The acid-green Chrysanthemum is called 'Froggy' and flowers in the autumn. Sarah Raven had it in her summer catalogue.
I have also mixed in some Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Silver Queen'. A lovely variegated usually evergreen shrub.

ReplyDeleteSoooo wonderful again !!!

Have a nice week, best wishes,
Sanne
Definitely need a summer reminder today! Never got above 30 degrees!
ReplyDeleteThis is an absolutely gorgeous color combination, and beautifully photographed.
Härligt somrigt, nästan som grädde. Och skönt som kontrast till allt höstigt, lätt, elegant!

An amazing combination. I really love it.
ReplyDeleteThese are BEAUTIFUL! I absolutely love the green in them!
ReplyDeleteWell, I simply love this arrangement, Ingrid! Yes, of course, you had to buy the pink mums, and the green ones are perfect – I love the name! We absolutely need reminders of spring and summer through the dark months. I don't have Pittosporum but I use branches of Rhamnus alaternus 'Variegatus', Variegated Italian Buckthorn, in arrangements. It's my FAVORITE shrub, just glows in the garden all through winter. Have a great week. best, – g
ReplyDeleteÅh vad fint, Ingrid!

Ingrid, the element of surprise is always welcome! And this arrangement is so full of grace, with that lustreware teacup alongside to compliment the mums.
ReplyDeleteJust lovely.
Thank you again for the flower tips. Much appreciated.

A lovely colour combination. Now I see how those bright green flowers might work with another colour to tone them down. They are a bit much on their own!
ReplyDeleteDet var nog de underbaraste blommor jag sett på länge!
