Its the end of a great year for 'FLOWERS' - and we would like to wish you a 'Happy New Year!'
It was so lovely to round off the year with Titti and I being featured as 'Blogger of the Month' in the Swedish magazine Lantliv.
For celebrating New Years Eve I have created a little new years table setting with Amaryllis, Christmas cactus and dark green holly.
Cloudy skies, low outdoor light levels and short winter days sometimes makes it a little bit difficult to take photographs indoors. I only use natural light for the images I take - but I do make one exception and that is candle light.
The brass candle sticks are Swedish - designed in the 1940's by Ivar Ålenius-Björk - they are called 'Liljan' - Swedish for 'Lily'. It was a very popular candle stick and is now being made again. Here is a link to a Swedish article about the manufacture Ystad Metall.
The flowers and foliage are very simply arranged - the gorgeous white and green Amaryllis are in a off-white vase - the Christmas cactus is planted in a pot and the holly is also in simple mini glass vases - as well as a few stems tied with a grey ribbon and placed on the table.
I have put some gold and brass coloured mini Christmas tree baubles in a few clear glass containers.
As well as a few old antique brass curtain rings just for their simple beauty but also for fun.
A festive New Years Eve table with a bit of bling, candles and seasonal floral beauty!
Titti Malmberg - my Swedish collaborator on FLOWERS - is also wishing everybody a 'Happy New Year!' - or as they say in Sweden 'Gott Nytt År!'.

Ingrid, the wit and beauty of this composition is so charming! The 1940s Lily candlesticks make graceful accompanyments to those flowers and leaves. The curtain rings are perfect...and made me smile.
