"The Seeds of a Life with Flowers. At my grandmother's knee, I learned the rules of arranging flowers: the height of the flowers should be one and a half times the height of the vase; always use odd numbers of flowers; never mix red with pink. These rules are ingrained so deeply that even today I begin to sweat if I try to break them."

Have to remember these tips! Thanks for sharing Ingrid!
I know these tips too, but often I like to break all the rules. As I understand well, Rebecca Cole has grown up with flower arranging.
Using an odd number of blooms does set up a pleasing composition, but I think I would feel free to break most of those other rules just to see what would happen.
(I also learned those rules as a child.)
